All AMLI Residential (AMLI) apartment communities are pet-friendly and offer great services for pet parents of dogs, cats, fish and birds. Since first introducing pet-friendly policies in their communities decades ago, AMLI’s amenities have grown from basic pet relief stations to now include pet parks with intricate dog training courses, pet spas, dog treats in the leasing offices and yappy hour events for residents and their pups.
“Being pet-friendly is extremely important to AMLI because we recognize that pets are considered part of the family to our residents,” says Alex Westermann, AMLI Residential. “Providing pet-friendly services reflects our core mission to provide an outstanding living environment for our residents. It’s important for us to provide this environment to our residents’ pets as well.”
As an additional pet-friendly perk, many pet-related businesses surrounding the developer’s apartments participate in AMLI’s PERKS program, which offers exclusive discounts to residents, including Game Time Dog, Austin Urban Vet Center, Vet Around Town and more.
In Austin, AMLI residents can have up to two pets per apartment and the weight limit for dogs is generous at a maximum of 100 pounds. Cat owners are charged a fee of $250, a security deposit of $250 and an extra $10 per month for rent. For dogs, AMLI charges a $300 fee, $250 security deposit and an extra $20 per month for rent.
In the 1990s, the AMLI staff noticed that more residents were seeking pet-friendly apartments and that demand has only continued to increase over the years. The company recognizes that residents want a home that provides convenient amenities, exceptional customer service and a healthy, happy lifestyle for both themselves and their furry family members.
“Austin is an extremely pet-focused city,” Westermann says. “Offering pet accommodations and amenities is a necessity for attracting and keeping our residents and potential residents happy and satisfied.”
In addition to its generous pet-friendly policies, the company regularly shares blog posts on its website and social media accounts about pet-friendly topics such as preparing pet-friendly recipes and keeping your pup calm on the Fourth of July. AMLI has also waived pet deposits on National Dog Day and has worked with local pet group, Classic Canines, to raise awareness for the older dog demographic.
Many pet-owning homeseekers face challenges when it comes to finding housing for themselves and their pets. This is especially true for pet owners who rent their homes.
What do you suppose your dog thinks about your neighborhood? It might seem like a strange question, but there are nice places to live and there are worse places to live, whatever species we are.
